Description
The Main Square is the central area that has brought together the local community for its public activities throughout the course of history: markets and medieval games, bullfighting festivities and comedies.
Its urban structure reminds to the roman millitary towns (castrum). It has two routes crossing it in a perpendicular way that led to the village entrances.
The structure represents the very purest essence of Castilian main squares: a square surface surrounded by tuscan style colonnades that bear two top floors, large windows and balconies.
Its current condition corresponds with the one Catholic Monarchs ordered to build. However, it dates back to the end of the 16th and 17th centuries, undergoing reformation in the 19th Century, and an important restoration in 1994.
