Diputación de Valladolid organized an exhibition titled “¡Al Arma! Al Arma! Castellanos…” in 2008, to celebrate the bicentenary of the beginning of the Spanish Independence War. This exhibition was displayed in several towns of our province.
Tordesillas was one of the towns chosen because it was an important place during that historical period. Tordesillas was the French Army headquarters, Napoleon was housed in this town at Royal Monastery of Santa Clara hostelry, the guerrilla Saturnino Abuín was born here, and this town was part of the strategic thrust Valladolid - Medina de Rioseco - Tordesillas.
